Thanks for the empathy. Well...this day went on with me feeling a little weird about it. And a feeling little weird about feeling weird.

One topical tie-in: this guy (who's 8 years younger than me) didn't have any older siblings and, as is often the case with that situation, had horrible musical taste. Among other things, I turned him onto Let It Bleed. He would smoke up outrageously in the middle of the night, get on his bike and tear through the pitch black of Rock Creek Park, blaring LIB in his earphones. The tone of his book resonates with high adrenaline crashing through the underbrush with a LIB soundtrack.
