The point is; the song as far as Lennon and McCartney were concerned was not one that they were going to give too much attention to, that's why they gave it to the Rolling Stones to record after the Stones agreed that it was one they could work to fit their style....what the Stones did with it is irrelevant to the argument, it's what McCartney and Lennon thought of it and had planned for the song that is relevant to the argument. All they, Lennon and McCartney, had planned for it was to give it to Ringo, it was written for Ringo, you do agree with that now, yes? In other words, they didn't think it was much of a song by their standards (and they were right imo).
The Stones to their (again) credit, made a decent fist of a pretty poor Lennon/ McCartney song, and got it to number 12 in the U.K. Top Twenty, a decent result for the Stones (and Lennon and McCartney, their name was on it). Number 12 in the U.K. charts at that time would have been a less than decent result for the Beatles.
I'm afraid your initial thoughts on 'I Wanna Be Your Man' Keno, are completely at odds with the thoughts of the men who wrote it.
