RE:the bottom line is....it's no throwaway!

The fact that Lennon said things he didn't always mean does say something here - maybe he wasn't wrong in saying it was a throwaway, because he might not have meant it, and that's all I'm trying to get across here. But my truer feelings is that he was wrong to say that, and maybe he said it since he was just covering up the fact that he and Paul gave away a hit single, and that statement was his excuse for covering up that fact. I'm not saying that's for sure, as I can't know that for sure, but knowing how Lennon was, it could have been nothing more than that. Yes, no proof to that, just a hunch, and I'm not saying you are incorrect in your comments on this, but it also doesn't mean I'm wrong here either.

I also feel that if the Beatles didn't give the song away, and Paul decided that he would sing the lead himself, and still have Brian Jones play the slide on the song as a guest (since back then neither John or George played slide yet), my guess is the song would not had been just a top 20 hit, and instead it would have been a #1 song for the Beatles, since the Beatles were more popular than the Stone who were't really even known yet in the UK. The song was just that strong that it could have done that!

Sure, I can be totally wrong here in this overall debate, but what the hell is the big deal if I am? I just disagree with you on this, because I think it's clear that the song in truth wasn't a throwaway at all, since it became a hit, and hit singles are not throwaways regardless of what the co author says, since again, maybe that was just an excuse for giving it away in the first place.

But you pluto seem to be more into proving that I'm wrong, over if the song was or wasn't a throwaway. Why are you that way? You don't really want to debate this song, you rather just have an argument with me, and prove I'm wrong and that you are right, and that's so old, as it's been an on going thing with you for too long a time now. Anyone who has read this board regularly for the last few years can see that in you. You don't and never have liked me, and I know that, and that's why it's no fun in debating you. You don't debate to prove something that you strongly believe in, you debate more so just to argue.
