I think God is a construct of intelligent minds, dreamed up because we can dream, and because we want to comfort ourselves about things we don't understand. I don't believe in any god or religion whatsoever, it is all imagination. To me, comfort comes from knowing that what we know and see and feel right now is all we got, the only shot we have, and so to make it count for all it's worth and to really appreciate it while we can because after we die there will only be nothingness. There is so much beauty in things almost precisely BECAUSE you can't hold on to them forever. For example, if all you had and all you knew was a neverending beautiful sunset from the top of a jagged peak it would cease to mean anything or be pretty because that's all there would be. That's "heaven" to me, meaningless.
