The human concept of god arose from the universal curiosity of cause and effect exhibited buy our species. Before the advent of scientific knowledge, anything that could not be explained by rational thought or observation was attributed to a higher deity. Every culture over the course of history has worshiped a god or gods, but they have been different gods. They cannot all be correct in their divine assessments, but they could certainly all be incorrect.
