Damn, we got to stop bringing back bad memories of really bad covers like that, LOL!
I had totally forgotten about that cover, had to go to YouTube and hear it again, and yeah, I remember it now, and now my ears are hurting real bad! But while that "ooga chaka" crap is real bad indeed.... I still stand by what I wrote, since what I noted was that Donny's terrible cover was "the worst #1 cover" of any song... and while this cover song "Hooked On A Feeling" is real bad too - it was never a #1 hit, in fact it wasn't even a Top 10 hit for that matter. Wikipedia's as usual misinformation on the song doesn't matter (well it does), it wasn't ever #1 in the U.S. as they note there, not on any major charts that I know of anyway. I just looked and the best it did was #20 on Billboard. But yeah, it's bad, but of course - yet the true worst cover of all time, while again not a #1, was William Shatner's cover of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", but I understand his cover of "Mr. Tambourine Man" is almost as bad, but lucky me -that one I missed, along with also missing his cover of "Rocket Man", too. He needs to stick to acting, Ronnie!
