Back in the late '60s, there was a totally different mindset when it came to drug abuse, and to this day, the stupid and total failure towards the so called "war on drugs", which Pig Nixon started around that very time. Treatment wasn't a part of any of that until the mid to late '70s. Before that time, if you were a drug addict, you would get busted for anything - including just a single joint (and face years in prison for just that); you were treated like dirt, and many young people died from it. The only anti-drug programs back then was to arrest people in those days, as the older generations of the '60s had no clue how to handle drugs - or their kids. BJ was a victim of all that, as were countless others, too. It wasn't really his band-mates fault when it came to the drug usage part, as they all were doing drugs themselves.... Now his mistreatment within the band was the Glimmers fault alone. But I think their youth was a part of that problem, too.
As far as his murder went, well that's for another thread, but he was murdered, and the police, who hated the Stones, didn't really seem to care; they were if anything glad he was gone and blamed it on his being a druggie/hippie/punk. They lied and said drugs killed him since that would help to make their stupid drug war look more legitimate. But it never did, not to the Boomers who it was all aimed at.
Why didn't MT get writing credits/ Royalties for all the writing he did on GHS?
Or on any of the other albums he wrote the music to?... He wasn't credited for the very same reason Brian and Bill weren't credited. Things were different back then when it came to stuff like that and they got away with that crap. What gets me today is that they still won't admit to what they did to their own band-mates. But they did it, and most Stones fans know they did it. The Keitherholics are the holdouts on this, they refuse to look into that light to see the truth, since in their eyes, Keith is their god and he can't do no harm or any bad things.
