RE: RE: RE: power strips/extension cords

Well there is obviously a short some where. even if you have just a bad connection on the one outlet on the power strip, movement can make a connection again.

Yeah, it has to be the power strip and that one outlet I bet, and you're right, movement could do that. I need a new power strip for sure.

Might be a pain to do but I suggest plugging that receiver into a completely different outlet.

Because I live in a log house with log walls, and it's not easy installing outlets in those kind of walls, and because there's also no building codes where I live, the electrician I hired when I was building this house skimmed on installing outlets. So I have no spare outlets in my living room available at all.

Probably be easier with an extension cord so you don't have to unplug and replug a bunch of different components.

That won't work since I got to have a surge protector and you aren't suppose to use them with extension cords... Plus there's also that old rule that so many people break often, that you are only suppose to use an extension cords for temporary use only. I knew a family years ago that had a major fire in their house caused by an overheated extension cord. So I only use them when I absolutely have to. But hey, I appreciate your suggestions.
