-I agree with your comments about the military and the anthem, Keno.
And I do now fully understand, and agree with, the very logical argument about players not taking a knee. They are employees and can protest in their own time. If I worked at McDonald's and tried to protest something while working, I would surely be fired regardless of what I was protesting or weather or not my protests interfered with my work.
And more to the point about the military. The military is invoked, mentioned, written into things so often for political purposes and to bolster a point of view. When someone in the White House joked about John McCain dying, a few commentators said it was a terrible way to speak of a war veteran. What did it matter that he was a war veteran? Isn't that a bad way to speak of anyone?
