RE: RE: RE: The Afrermath

You don't have to thank me, I want to thank you for bringing this up.

I will never forget this day in history either, nor will anybody else who was around back then and saw just how fucked up our government was as far as that insane war went.

How on earth could the Ohio National Guard fire on unarmed kids - and at their own school yet?! When I think back on that event, I still cannot believe it even happened! Yes, I remember what happened in Chicago in '68 at the Democratic Convention, how the Chicago police beat the living shit out of the anti-war demonstrators - and for no fucking reason. I became a anti-establishment yippie on that very day. Yet what happened at Kent State was even worse than what took place in Chicago.... The World World 2 generation seemed to really hate their boomer kids back then; it really seemed that way with the draft and the way they didn't care about our feelings. But shit, they weren't dying in their teens and 20s for some stupid war half way around the world, we kids were! No question, if there ever was a generation gap, it never was bigger than in the '60s and '70s.

>But what has changed, instead of using bullets to quell the rabble, the powers that be control the masses by taking away their civil rights and using fear to keep them in line. Allison, William, Jeffery and Sandra, I’m sorry that a whole generation, and me, let you down.

This is the only thing I can't totally agree with you on. Yes, Bush has taken away our civil rights, no question about that, but there are two big different deals today than back then. First, with this ongoing Bush oil war, we have all volunteers fighting. There is no draft, if the draft was still being used today, then I would say yes, we still didn't learn anything from back then. But at least nobody is being forced into the military to die any more, and that is one major improvement and difference. No, kids dying for oil still sucks beyond words - but again, nobody is forcing them to go there..... The other deal is we the people, unlike the morons who voted Pig Nixon into power (and the Pig LBJ, too), we did not vote Bush into office. He stole the office and that is why he is getting away with all of these crimes against so many people.

Most baby boomers are nothing like their parents generation were. No, we didn't turn out the way we tried to or wanted to, and in that way we let ourselves down big time, but the war and the killings happening today is the fault of Bush - and all of his blind Republican followers, and the Democrats in DC, too - who didn't have the balls to impeach this war criminal a few years back when there were several grounds on which to do so. They my friend, are the ones who let Allison, William, Jeffery and Sandra down.

I still today go to anti-war demonstrations, just like I did in my youth. As long as pigs rule, wars will keep happening. Sad but true, but we can't stop letting our voices be heard, we got to keep fighting the war machine if we want peace, even if it leads to the death of some of us.

In closing, to Bush I quote Jagger: You say you are a patriot - I think that you're a crock of shit!... How come you're so wrong!
