Hee-Haw certainly boosted my own appreciation for traditional American Country music, much more so than the commercial pop-based stuff eminating from the country stations at the time. Roy Clark and Buck Owens would mix it up from time to time, bringing in blues or jazz artists. Clark was an adept jazz player himself. I remember an eclectic episode with bluesman Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown as featured guest artist.
