Are you kidding, of course Hot Rocks is a sanctioned Rolling Stones album!...., but no, the Stones had nothing to do with its release, yet the Glimmers have still made a ton of money off of it. So what if it's a greatest hits LP, it's still a Stones album of hit songs that the band wanted released. Plus like it or not, it is clearly their biggest selling LP of all time, while their second place album (also not a original studio album) isn't even close to it in sales. The 2 best Studio original music albums put out by the Stones are Some Girls and Sticky Fingers , they have sold about 4 or 5 million each.
