Linda Rondstadt and Randy Newman should be in there before Nugent. Now I not saying they should be in there, but if you took the 3 and said, 2 of these gets in and one doesn't, then Nugent would be my man out. He just wasn't a great guitarists IMO. What is so great about him? He played heavy metal like guitar, and no, he isn't bad, but he isn't great, either. He's your average good guitarist, and a Hall of Fame is suppose to be reserved for the best in the business - which he isn't one of.
Yes, there so many persons who shouldn't be in the Hall. But we are talking here about Nugent, and just because - say a poor playing band like Blondie is in, or any of the rappers who got in, and shouldn't be in there - doesn't mean they make the same mistake again and let in more like them. Nugent as as a musician is better than any rapper or the guitarists who played in Blondie, but that doesn't mean he's good enough for the Hall, either.
One last thing that I have noted here before... when you visit the Hall, you realize just how damn cool the place is. There isn't a true rock fan alive that won't have a great time there and I highly recommend all rock fans visit the joint at least once in their lifetime.
