If you have ex members playing all the time maybe it begins to look like a nostalgia band? There are lots of fading and kaput groups that get together occasionally and have a revolving door policy with ex members and the line ups are interchangeable and different every night. Perhaps the Stones want to avoid that? They probably also feel they dont owe them much as THEY were the ones who decided to leave...Unlike the case of BJ.
