Watched VH-1's "Woodstock" Behind The Music tonite,
and got to wondering.
Surely the Stones were asked to play.
They had already wrapped Let It Bleed, and performed
with Mick Taylor in front of a huge crowd in Hyde Park.
And as an enticement, the Woodstock promoters were paying double what acts were normally getting.
What was their rationale in turning it down ?
Of course, we all know they tried to re-create the vibe a few months later at Altamont, with disatrous results.
