When Nothing Blues and I went to see the Stones in Pittsburgh, we had mostly gotten out shit together, had some beers and got into our hotel room, and then we hung at the bar a little and decided we should head out to the ballfield to see what we could see.
We hadn't thought to reserve a cab, I think we just assumed we'd be magically transported there. So we went tot the front desk and they said maybe we could wait outside and catch one somehow. There were a lot of people out there, but then in a lull where we were the only two for a minute, a cab pulls up.
We say, "Hey! Take us to see The Stones!"
He say, "I would, but someone reserved the cab. Are you them?"
We obviously weren't, but we said they were rude for not being there and we tipped better anyway. So he says, "Wait here, I have to go see if they're here. If they aren't, I can get you there."
He walked in the lobby, looked left, looked right, and then turned around and walked out. He looks at us and says, "Well, I don't see them. (There were about forty people in the lobby waiting for cabs!) Let's go!"
Pittsburgh is unbelieveably stupid to drive in, and between NB and the cabbie, we got there really fast. I think I tipped him 20 bucks, and I think NB tipped him as well. I know I tipped him more than the fare!
So if it was you that got your cab snaked, well I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm not. I mean, you got your cab snaked by two drunks that didn't even think to reserve a cab for a Stones concert!
