The City of Woodland Park is the most populous city in Teller County, Colorado. The population was 7,920 at the 2020 census and it's elevation is 8,465 feet (2,580 meters). Known for its rich history — from old cowboy villages and dude ranches to train routes and prohibition-era hideouts — Woodland Park is where nature, history and community come together.

The town is known for some of its popular attractions, which include Manitou Park Lake, Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center and Rainbow Falls. Yet today, Woodland Park is now more of a suburb of Colorado Springs than the independent tourist town it once was. Still, adventure and fun defines Woodland Park, located in and surrounded by the 1,000,000-acre (400,000 hectares) Pike National Forest, here you'll find lots to do outdoors, everything from hiking, fly fishing, rodeos, to visiting the town's parks.

Woodland Park experiences an alpine subarctic climate. Summers are warm, but much cooler than summers at lower elevations, such as in nearby Colorado Springs, Denver, or the Great Plains to the east. Nights are cool, even chilly in summer. The town sees an average annual precipitation of about 20 to 22 inches (about 54 centimeters) of rain and around 79 inches (221 centimeters) of snowfall. The all-time record high temperature here is 100°F (38°C), which was officially recorded on June 12, 2013 and it's coldest reading ever is -17°F (-22°C), with this record low occurring on February 2, 2011.
