over the 2010 census. The town is just to the east
of
Silverthorne, with the Dillon Reservoir just to its
south. The continental divide is approximately ten miles (16 km) east.
The town has a total area of 1,487 acres (6.018 km2) including 531 acres (2.149 km2) of water.
Dillon has an alpine subarctic climate. Summer days are usually warm,
yet the nights drop down close to freezing. Winter days are cold, with massive amounts of snowfall.
