Doing some heavy-duty rockin' & rollin' here at home tonight after a busy day with home improvement work.
What am I rockin' to you ask? Well, The Stones EOMS Deluxe Edition (GOD I love 'Plundered My Soul') and especially enjoying the music of original McCoys member Rick Derringer, mostly live stuff. He really knows how to rock 💃
This mother is one heluva guitarist --- check out Beyond the Universa from the 1976 album "Derringer...Live in Cleveland".
We saw Derringer headlining in Central Park (NYC) July 26, 1976. They were FAN-TAS-TICK!! Rick had a second guitarist in the band who was equally superb, and the two of them were wailing away together on the guitars throughout the show. We called them out for THREE encores.
He remained great in the new millennium ----> Rhapsody in Red from 2002 "Live at Cheney Hall".
Finally, I played the 'Papa' John Phillips album "Pay Pack & Follow". Some damn good stuff on this album. Here's Oh Virginia with Mick & Keith, MICK TAYLOR, and Ronnie on bass. Another great track with Mick Taylor is Zulu Warrior with daughter MacKenzie Phillips, and Ron Wood on bass, and Mick Jagger.
The songs on this album are really quite good! There's not a bad cut on here.
