A lot depends on special counsel Mueller's ongoing investigation, which will likely persist for months or even a year or more. I understand that the guy is extremely good and thorough at what he does, so if a Russian collusion and/or coverup is found to include Trump, impeachment would likely be a bipartisan effort. As for abolishing the electoral college, that is a huge hurdle and unfortunately nothing will change any time soon if ever. It would require a Constitutional amendment with a super majority of states ratifying it, along with approval of both houses of Congress. Any state legislature with a Republican majority would be guaranteed to give it a thumbs down, and right now the GOP controls most of them.
