RE: Very critical article re: Stones live albums

It is quite normal for bands these days to release a live record following an album and major tour. I disagree with the article in many ways. With the way the Stones have done things since 1969.....album, blockbuster tour, a couple of albums, then another album with a blockbuster tour....there is enough time between live records.

I really love the 4 DVD live sets they did with Best Buy. Especially the Licks one where you got to see a club show, an arena show and a stadium show.

The only problem with the Stones releasing so many live albums these days revolves around the conservative set lists. Aside from "Emotional rescue," there was nothing on the Sweet Summer Sun (Hyde Park) package that hasn't been done a million times before. How many versions of Start Me Up and Street Fighting Man do we need? I would rather they record a bunch of different gigs and put together a live album that features more deep album tracks. There are still a number of criminally underrated album tracks like "Down In The Hole" and "It Must Be Hell" that have never been played live.
