The thing I always liked about Ronnie is the same thing that Bill noted many years ago about him, that he was just like Brian Jones when it came to the many different instruments he could play, and how he would get Bill to play other instruments while they were in the studio. Bill noted that Brian was the same way with him, he would get him to play other instruments, and once Brian was gone, all Bill would only play was his bass after that, up until Some Girls, when he started to play a couple more instruments again, and it was around that time Bill noted this. But yes, Ronnie renergized the band when he joined and there's no question he fills in for Keith when Keith's fingers are hurting. The last time I saw the Stones play in Denver, Ronnie played lead guitar on every single song, other than the last one, and he and Mick both carried the show for the band that night.
