Westfield is a town in the western part of Chautauqua County, New York. The population was 4,545 at the 2020 census. it's elevation is 754 ft (230 m). Westfield is also the name of a village within the town, containing 65% of the town's population. This town is accompanied by vineyards, gorges and historical buildings. In 1897, the founder of Welch's Grape Juice, Charles E. Welch, moved his company to Westfield from New Jersey to take advantage of the ideal climate for the cultivation of grapes, particularly of Concord grapes. The region soon became noted for the growing of grapes for both wine and grape juice.

Westfield, has a humid continental climate, characterized by four distinct seasons influenced by its proximity to Lake Erie. Summers are warm with comfortable temperatures, while winters are cold and snowy, with significant lake-effect snow possible.The highest temperature ever recorded in Westfield,  was 97.5°F /36.4°C on July 1, 2018. The record low was set on January 21, 2011 at -21.5°F/-29.7°C . The most snow ever seen in a single snowstorm  occurred from late November to early December in 2024, when a lake-effect storm buried the area in more than 30 inches (76+ cm) of wet, heavy snow.
