Queens is a borough of New York City, in Queens County, in the state of New York. Located on Long Island, it is the largest New York City borough by area. It is bordered by the borough of Brooklyn at the western tip of Long Island, with Nassau County to its east. Queens shares water borders with the boroughs of Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island and with New Jersey. Queens has a population of 2,405,464, as of the 2020 census, making it the second-most populous county in New York state, behind Kings County (Brooklyn), and is therefore also the second-most populous of the five New York City boroughs. Queens is the most linguistically diverse place on Earth and is one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the United States.
It is home to both of New York City's airports: John F. Kennedy Airport (aka "JFK Airport") and LaGuardia Airport. Among its landmarks are Flushing Meadows–Corona Park; Citi Field, home to the New York Mets baseball team; the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, site of the U.S. Open tennis tournament; and Aqueduct Racetrack.
