Here is that list of the songs that made it to the finial round for next week's Rock Poll
The question was: What is the greatest all-time intro to a Rock Song? (Part 2 of 3)
These 13 songs from Part 2 made the cut:
Revolution - The Beatles - Acid guitar lick by John, hard single drum beat by Ringo, and John's scream has this one starting off the first acid to metal rock song (215 votes and 6.5% of the vote)
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones - Electric fuzz guitar riff by Keith Richards (214 & 6.5%)
Iron Man - Black Sabbath - Ward's simple drum beat, followed by Iommi's demonic guitar riffing & Ozzy's demonic like spoken word's 'I am Iron Man!' kicks this one off 212 6.4%
Time Has Come Today - The Chambers Brothers - The alternate striking of two cowbells by Brian Keenan and a simple 'kookoo' sung by Lester Chambers starts this one off (211 & 6.4%)
Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix - Guitar riff by Hendrix says it all in this opening (210 & 6.4%)
Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd - It's the smooth organ played by producer Al Kooper and the piano played by Billy Powell that actually sets this one up (209 & 6.3%)
Light My Fire - The Doors - Ray Manzarek's keyboard line gets this one going (209 & 6.3%)
We Will Rock You - Queen - Foot stomping and hand clapping by the band members followed by Freddie Mercury's vocals (209 & 6.3%)
When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin - Bonzo's drumming followed by Plant's harp and the rest of the band then joining in made this opening fine indeed (208 & 6.3%)
Hot For Teacher - Van Halen - A rapid drum solo by Alex Van Halen followed by the usual frantic guitar playing by brother Eddie, gets this one going strong (207 & 6.3%)
Roll Over Beethoven - Electric Light Orchestra - Organ, followed by volins, cellos and other symphonic sounds, then by a '50s style guitar riff, all performered by the entire band (207 & 6.3%)
Thunderstruck - AC/DC - Manic guitar riff by Angas Young along with recorded chanting from fans at a live rock concert (207 & 6.3%)
