: 2000 Man mentioned Emmylou Harris. I didn't know people like her here. I love her.

Me too. Her range of influences is broad, and hell I even liked the last thing I heard by her & Dolly Parton (!) which was a beautiful version of Neil Young's "After The Gold Rush".

:...John Prine ... I love him too. Voted for Eisenhower 'cuz Lincoln won the war... Swears like a sailor when she shaves her legs... There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes/ Jesus Christ died for nothing, I suppose...the guy has a way with words.

: Yeah, sorry to most but Tom Waits is not for me.

You are lettin' me down, bro! Try again! Drink yerself stupid and listen to Raindogs. Even Jesus wanted just a little more time/when he was walking Spanish down the hall. You MUST LOVE TOM! I so decree.

: My alternative to the Stones is low down ranchy
: country. IE Steve Earl. I have him doing Dead
: Flowers.

It is great and so is he. I have Steve Earle and the Supersuckers doing "Before They Make Me Run" and it smokes. It is from a cool little EP on SubPop with 5 songs on it, worth picking up. A buddy of mine just met Steve in Philadelphia 2 or 3 weeks ago. Said he was a likeable fella. I would have been a LOT more impressed if I hadn't just met Keith. To beat that you would have to meet God AND Bob Dylan in the same elevator.
