Musical maturation, growth, more command of the studio as am instrument, bringing in other musical influences (classical and Indian music for example), and creative experimentation. And not to overlook the fast-paced cultural revolution of the 60's that permeated most everything. The Who once said it best with a track titled "Music Must Change". The British Invasion bands that stuck with their original formulas went the way of the dinosaur. The DC5 is a prime example.
