Undercover Of The Night/TY/AM/Sun Songs/more!

I’m a bit late tonight in getting our weekly polls off and running (okay, I’m very late), but better late than never I guess, and as usual, I’ll start off talking about the Stones poll, where we enter week 1,016 and where I always ask 2 different poll questions each week. For the first poll, we will answer this question: Rate the Stones video for “Undercover Of The Night”(B Version)

This Stones video was directed by filmmaker Julien Temple, and we already in the past rated the first video that he made for this same song - with that one being the better known, and it even includes bits of this video in it. But that first video was the reason why this second one was made in the first place, to show the band playing the song on TV as 2 teenagers watch it, while the gal keeps switching the channel on the TV between the Stones playing this song on stage, to watching a violent TV movie starting the Glimmer Twins - while that violent movie was of course the main video for this song. So these same 2 teens are in this vid too, with the same exact footage of them in this one - other than the only thing they are watching this time on the tube is the Stones TV performance of this song. So, you got to totally forget about the first video when you watch this one, as this time the teen girl is supposed to only be reacting to the band playing up on stage - and not the movie.

While this video was only made to just be a small part of the main video for the song, and with only a little bit of it shown in that one, it ended up later on - in it's entirely this time, to become the second (or B version) video for this song, since the band did so well in making this ‘video in a video’. But how much do you dig this second take vid for this song?

To cast your vote in this week’s first Stones poll, just click on: Stones Weekly Poll and click on Poll 1.

For the second Stones Poll this week we ask this: Tattoo Tou vs Aftermath, which album do you like best?

vs or

The Tattoo Us Polls returns this week to the battleground, featuring the 1980 Stones LP, Tattoo You. TY has a record of 13-7-1 in past matches and sits tied in the last spot of the Top 10 in the standings for this series. This week it takes on the 1966 release Aftermath, which also has a winning record in these battles, at 15-6, good for 8th place in the same album standings.

To check out the song list for each album, for Tattoo Tou, click here: TY, and for Aftermath, click here: AM-US or AM-UK. Just remember, when comparing Tattoo Tou to Aftermath, just do so with the release of the AM LP that you know best (U.S. or UK), just don’t combine the two.

To vote in this week’s second Stones poll, just click on: Stones Weekly Poll and click on Poll 2.

Looking back at our first Stones poll last week, we answered this question: Who was the best guitarist in the Stones?

That was a fun poll to run, and while MT lead for the entire week, at the close to polling, things got very close between 3 of the 4 main Stones guitarists! To see if MT held on in the end or not to take first, click here: Stones Weekly Poll 1 - week 1,015. The final results to this poll can also be found here: Stones VS List Page 2, at the very bottom of the page.

The second Stones poll last week asked this question: The Rolling Stones, Now! vs Bridges To Babylon, which album do you like best?

vs

This one wasn’t close at all, as The Rolling Stones, Now! won out in a landslide. To see the final results from this poll, click on this link: Stones Weekly Poll 2- week 1,015. Or, you can see all of the final results and see the updated, current album standings at the Stones VS Page 1.

Now let’s move on over to the Classic Rock Poll, where we enter poll week 656, and in this one we also vote on 2 different poll questions in one week. For the first Rock poll the question asks this brand new question: What is the best song with 'sun' in the title? (Part 3 of 3)

The final part (3) of this question dealing with songs that have “sun” in their title. So okay, we got our final lot of songs to vote on for the finale of this poll. I usually don't go with 10 songs from both rounds from a 3 part series, but that's how it worked out in the voting last week, so there will be 20 very sunny songs to choose from in this last round. To make your pick and vote, just click here: Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 1” to vote on this question.

For our second Rock poll this week, we have the Rock VS poll, which asks this: The Beatles' Yellow Submarine vs The Stones' Dirty Work, which of these 2 disliked LPs, is better?

VS

This matchup should be interesting, to say the least. The Beatles' Yellow Submarinealbum, turned out to be the only one of their LPs not to win a single round in their album matchup series, going 0-13 in those rounds. Although the Stones album VS series is still ongoing, Dirty Work has finished up its part of that series and just like YS, in its Stones album matches, it also lost in every round too, finishing up with a 0-24 record. So, here's a chance for yet another Beatles VS Stones poll (it's been a long time since one was last run), putting their 2 worst and least liked LPs up against each other... and so… may the worst LP lose! But BTW, do notice, we aren't asking for the worst of the 2 here, instead to keep the poll question more positive, we will vote for the best one out of the 2. Same thing as voting for the worst I guess, just the wording is more positive!

So which of these 2 unlike albums do you like better? To vote in this week’s second Rock poll, just click here: Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 2” to vote on this question.

Looking back at last week’s 2 Rock polls, the first question asked: What is the best song with 'sun' in the title? (Part 2 of 3)

Last week the results were so close that 10 songs made it on into the final round. To see the full results from this question, just click here: Classic Rock Poll 1, week 655.

Looking back at last week’s VS Rock poll, the question was: “Rag Doll" by The 4 Seasons vs “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel. Which of these songs dealing with 2 gals and their social class, do you like better?

VS

Close voting in this one. To see this poll’s final results, just click here: Classic Rock Poll 1, week 655. Or to see the results on the list page only, please go here: VS Page 3, List Page, 15.

Now unfortunately, and for the second week in a row there won’t be a new Beatles weekly poll to run thanks to the sick spammer who has made it impossible for the poll to be run again. Yes, this person, who clearly has no life in the real world, is still at it, although not like he was 2 weeks ago. Still, I’m not gonna give him any more polls to try to spam. So while he’s still wasting his time spamming polls where his vote doesn’t ever count (he’s still doing this at the Beatles On-Going polls), there won’t be a weekly Fab poll to spam again for this week. But the more this moron does this, the closer my host comes to catching him, too, as every time he spams, he leaves a calling card to whom he is, and no, he can’t keep covering up his tracks forever, even if he tries (so say my host who is tracking his moves).

But this week’s Rock VS poll is half a Beatles poll, so you can say we are running such a poll question after all. We’ll see if this jerk tries to spam it, but chances are he won’t like the question, since I already know from his past spamming that he hates the YS LP (as he tries to vote for it over and over again at the Beatles least liked album poll), and he isn’t a Stones fan, either. Perhaps next week I might be able to bring back the Beatles weekly poll, depending on what takes place this week… yet on the other side of the coin, the Beatles On-Going polls could be suspended next, too. It would suck if that happens thanks to an old polling system that can’t handle this spam, combined with an asshole low life spammer who takes the fun away for everybody else. But hey, after 20 years of polling, we do have enough info from the Beatles On-Going polls to where it could be ended and still called a total success, too. I do hope to keep it going, but only time will tell. The only thing I can tell you is that the spammer won’t win in the end since none of his votes, not a single one – has counted.

I thank all of you who support our polls each week by voting in them each week!
