Sad to hear this. He lead a cool band. RIP Ray.
The first big rock festival that I ever went to was held down the road from where I lived as a teen, around 1970 or so, held at the old and now torn down Roosevelt Raceway, and Dr Hook and the Medicine Show were one of the headlines. He put on one great show! Besides a few hits, including that one big hit “The Cover of Rolling Stone”, which did land them on the RS cover (clever!), I always liked the song, "Don't Give A Dose To The One You Love Most", which has to be the greatest song ever written about VD (of all things)!
