That is interesting Gomper. I think the statistics here in the U.K. show that violent crime has been declining, but I think if you asked the person on the street do they feel any safer knowing that statistic, then the answer would be no. Who trusts statistics on crime to show anything other than what an interested party wants them to show?
How statistics are compiled can be revealing e.g. is one mass shooting that kills twelve, recorded as one violent/fatal incident or twelve? I don't know, but I do know statistics on many things here have been recorded in such a way so as to conceal the real picture.
