"Yellow Tongue Glimmer twins" label? Where did you get that info from? Maybe on boot it was released in that way?
I had both LPs when they first came out, and they were defiantly released on Rolling Stones Records and distributed as usual by Atlantic Records. I recall thinking at the time when Monkey Grip came out, that it was cool that Bill still released his first LP on his band's label even if it was a solo effort. At the time MG was only the 5th LP released on the still new Rolling Stones Records label. The first LP on the band's label released was in 1971, the Brian Jones 1968 produced album Brian Jones Presents the Pipes of Pan at Joujouka. Then several months after that Jamming with Edward!, featuring Jagger, Wyman, and Watts along with Nicky Hopkins and Ry Cooder, and recorded in '69, came out. Then the first 2 Stones LP on the label, Sticky Fingers and Exile, followed, and then MG came out a year after Exile, in early '74.
Now this was how MG was released in the U.S and UK. It may have been issued in a different matter in other countries, and maybe that's where the "Yellow Tongue Glimmer Twins" label comes from? I'm recalling that the Stones did have a sub-label to RSR; was it called the "Yellow Tongue Glimmer Twins" label? I can't recall. But I don't recall anything ever really being released on it, other than maybe some issues of MG? Please enlighten me on this HR, you seem to remember this label well enough.
