I'm sure you've all heard of Living Colour. I had their first album only, as money was tight for us in the 90s, buying a junk house and all. I had to wait to buy their later albums. Anyway, what do y'all think of LC??
To me Living Colour is one of the best groups of the late 80s into the 90s. (They broke up in '95, but reunited in Dec. 2000) Vernon Reid is one absolute mother of a guitar player. A dynamite rhythm section with drummer Will Calhoun, and Muzz Skillings on bass, who left the group after the first two albums, but was replaced by another awesome bass player Doug Wimbish. Finally, the lead singer, Corey Glover, who was in the Vietnam movie 'Platoon'.
I had the great pleasure of seeing them open for The Rolling Stones at Shea Stadium in 1989. Not the best sound quality but still their performance was top-notch!! I just wished they had better sounding equipment.
They're known for fusing styles and genres like Heavy Metal, Funk, Jazz, Alternative Rock, etc. The musicianship is simply outstanding.
Rather than link any individual songs, why not link the entire fantastic first album, "Vivid" (1988), that someone YouTubed. It's a perfect TEN! It's too hard for me to pick two or three songs, this whole thing fucken rocks, is highly enjoyable, and it's loaded with guitar solos. I love guitar solos! The more the better!
If you've never heard this phenomenal debut album, I highly recommend you do.

In 1990 they released their 2nd album "Time's Up". I give this album between an 8 and 8½.
Their 3rd album, "Stain" (1993) was a return to the nonstop high energy of their first, with the new bassist. Good rebound. I give it a NINE.
There's also an EP in there somewhere. (??) Anyway, Their music. Their lyrics. Their musicianship. Their showmanship. Amazing.
