Im finally getting the chance to chime in and im quite opinionated on my two alltime favorite bands.First off you know keno i have to defend starr here once again.He did not play on one version of love me do,maybe the single version i dont recall but i believe he was on the lp version.Because g martin could not decide on ringo or alan white.He did not play on dear prudence and the ballad of john and yoko only because he was not present for the sessions.So it was only back in the ussr he did not play on because paul felt he could not get it right.If watts is a metronome as was mentioned above so is ringo cause he has never ever played out of time as far as i know.Moving along as far as watts and wyman go they are more technically gifted than starr and mccartney but is their sound better,its great sound of course but i think in alot of cases on the lps the beatles got a richer fuller sound on bass and drums.Lennon ptoduced some stunning riffs but its hard to top the riffs richards produced over the years.Harrison and lennon got better and better as players just listen to harrisons slide playing on day after day or how do you sleep or both of their playing on and your burd can sing,yet its tough to beat guys like richards and taylor.I love jagger as a vocalist but hes clearly not a match for mccartney or lennon,and richards harmonies were good but of course the beates 3 part harmomies were stunning.Neither band were technical players but the stones were superior as technical playing goes.Lennon may well be the greatest rock singer in history in my opioion by the way.
