At first I wasn't even gonna click on that link that Starbuck set, and only did so in the last 15 minutes or so. Reading that puts tears in my yes even all these years later, and I guess that's why I didn't want to read that thread again, as it still hurts to think about that day. So it took me more than 2 hours to do so. Then as as I re-read that post my youngest grandson came down the stairs to go to school and saw my tears and asked what was wrong. So I told him what today was. He was just a babe in arms on that sad day and he has no memory of what took place on 9/11 at all. We talked just a bit, and I reminded him that it was his older brother's birthday today too, and that he should call him. He then looked at the page I was reading and said to me "I'm surprised more people didn't comment on that event when it happened, it was such big news".
So what he said reminded me that while that one thread is short indeed, for the next 3 days or so after, 100% of the posts made in Gasland were NSC posts about 911 - and nothing else. I even showed my grandson this by using the filter thread at the bottom of the page and changing the year to 2001. He then saw that yes, there were a ton of posts made here on that day, but not only on 9/11/01, but for several days after, too. So it got me thinking, if anyone is gonna go and read that post that Sarbuck linked to, you might as well read the other ones posted on that day too, as they all tell an interesting and sad story indeed.
Note: Do not hit the "Post Message" button more than once, even if it is taking a long time to post your message. Doing so may cause a double post to appear and could slow down your posting time even more.
