The song "Fortunate Son" was a anti draft, anti privileged song, even if some though it was anti war, but no, only indirectly it was. John Fogerty of CCR wrote this song in anger against all of that, as he was drafted in the mid '60s and had to leave his brother Tom's new band to join the military, as he was no draft dodger. He served his time and then rejoined that band and of course became the lead singer, lead guitarist, and main songwriter as his brother took a backseat when he saw his kid brother was better than he was at making music.

When John the vet opened up his eyes after he served and saw that rich kids (like asshole Trump) were not serving and dying in 'Nam like the kids from poorer families were, that's when and why he wrote the song.
