Believe it or not, I've always considered WKBW in Buffalo the best Top-40 station of the 60s and going into the 70s, outside of NYC of course.
(Windsor, Ontario, Canada's CKLW was really great too!)
I've never lived anywhere near Buffalo so how can I say WKBW was the best? By listening to dozens of hours of airchecks on the old REELRADIO website,-- with the old commercials and news and everything else, just exactly the way it happened, nothing edited out - (those are 'unscoped airchecks').
BUT, it was their great personality DJs, and playlists that made WKBW so exciting to listen to. Loved all those airchecks.
Reelradio ceased production just this past May. Keno managed to find a URL to it different from the one I had in my 'favorites' - Name Link Here, but when you click on any of the airchecks, they don't work.
