Im not sure where to rank wennner on importance to the genre certainly the magazine left its mark as an iconic entity.of course by the time lennon posed for rolling stone he was already an internationally known artist i suspect wenner needed john on the cover to give his new rag credibility mote than lennon needed to be on it
