No, Wenner didn't like the book, but Hagan has been lauded for sticking to his journalistic guns. Which is extremely ironic because not only was Wenner the one who sought him out to write it, but because Wenner himself mercilessly attacked all manner of musicians, actors and others in published press, many times after cozying up to them, somewhat reassuring them otherwise, etc....only to stab them in the back repeatedly. This included Lennon himself! If you read the book and then compare to the written historical record you will know this.
