I agree as long as it's stated that it was the black Americans who actually started all of it in the '50s and early '60s, and the white people of the U.S. ignored it all until the people in the UK took notice of how great that black music was, and made themselves famous playing and covering that very same black music..... and then the white Americans finally caught on after that. But in the '70s, bands like the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd don't really count, while they played great music, that kind of music was already established by others, too. They really didn't start anything, they just took what others before them recorded and played, and they combined it together and made great music from all that. So the truth is, southern rock, and the '60s UK music from the '60s, all really came for the great black music of the '50s and early '60s happening in America .... that's where it all really came from! The '60s bands from the UK got it out there and made it popular, but it was the African Americans who got it all started before them.
