The Brits no doubt brought a new and exciting sound to R n R. Our generation in Britain were listening to old American blues artists while we American teens mostly turned a deaf ear to them. Once bands like Cream, the Animals and Stones made their mark with some of these blues based songs, it seems that we started listening too. The Brits IMO brought the blues back to life, which in turn got some American bands to go to the blues and turned them into "new" blues and blues based rock, a whole world of music for us. That's just my take on this subject.
