Video not really a video as we know it.. Just a mimed live performNce. Maybe the singing is live.
Please read what I wrote on this (why do I even bother to write so much anyway if nobody reads what I wrote?). They did play the song live and the studio music was added in before the performance was shown on TV. I also noted that there weren't any music videos back then and the Beatles really did start them with their first 2 movies. So no true music videos in 1966, at least they didn't call them "music videos" in those days, instead they had other names for them, like "promo clips", etc. But they were actually music videos, or at least used for that. One could argue that this performance by the Stones was not a true promo clip, since it was really a live permorforamce. Yes, but some modern day video's were made from live performances too, and since the Stones used to use this as a music video, it fits what we are looking for in such a question.
My picks are:
Stones 1: A 10!
Stones VS: GHS by a light year. B2B is the only modern day Stones studio album that I don't care for. Something was missing on this album for sure.
Rock 1: I went with Van Morrison since my guess is he will need the votes and deserves to be in the final round. Yet deep down how do you vote against Bowie, or Young, or about 7 or 8 others listed this week?
Rock VS: I hated New Wave, the worst kind of Rock music ever put out.... but, I went with the New Wave band here since their cover while very close to the original, still sounds better to me.
