The masterpiece SF is one of the all time greatest rock albums put out by anybody, period!
My picks:
Stones poll 1: 8. I like it a whole bunch! My only 2 complaints are that I would have preferred a more slower paced blues album instead of the fast one they produced, that, and the almost total lack of any real slide guitar on the LP. Still, it's a near great LP!
Stones VS poll: LIB by 2 light years!
Rock poll 1: 'Subterranean Homesick Blues' by Bob Dylan, with 'Highway 61 Revisited' a close second.
Rock VS poll: Rod's cover is okay, but EJ's take blows it out of the water! The slide guitars on Elton's number are outstanding!... You got to wonder why Rod didn't have Ronnie Wood play some slide on there instead of just the regular lead he played? I guess blame it on the producer.
