Lennon or Mick?

Who has proved to be the most important figure in modern popular culture? Lennon was part of the Beatles phenomenon and Mick a part of the RS. Both were great lyricists, though Mick was clearly superior here. In terms of music Lennon was obviously a great, but it's hard to know how much Mick wrote. Apparently Brown Sugar--an epic song--is his. As cultural icons both are strong, but Mick clearly has the edge. In terms of longevity it has to be Mick.

So overall, I'll go with MJ.
