Not everyone will always agree with you Keno. This is your board but it will get lonely (or maybe not) if you only want people to agree with you all the time.
What? Why make such a comment like that?? Me stating my point of view has nothing at all to do with winning people over, it's just me simply stating what I believe, period! I've run this joint since 1998 and if there is one thing I knew even before I started it, was most of the time you can't win others over, not unless they are maybe on middle ground. For something like this, there isn't even any reason to win another person over, either you respect John's partner in life or you don't, it's totally no skin off of my back either way. But I will still state my feelings, regardless.
For my entire life I've been different than the average person, with some very far out views on things, that's who I am, and if others want to agree with me, or even join me, that's fine. But unlike a politician, I don't care what others do or believe in as long as what they are doing doesn't get in the way of my life, and if they do, then I will take action to stop them. But for anything else, I don't give a shit! People should live their lives the way they want to live it and not how some other person wants them or tells them how to live; you should first believe in what is right for you - not others. As Dylan wrote "Don't follow leaders", and I'll add, lead yourself and all will be the best for you.
If you dislike Yoko, that fine, but if I read that, I will counter what you write, since I like her. But I'm sure as shit not trying to change your point of view when I make my counterpoint, either, I'm just speaking up for the other side, that's all.
That week back in '72 was a wonderful week for me to be alive and witness all of that.... you don't want to take that week away from me, do you? Well I'm sure you don't (and you can't anyway), you are just stating your feelings - and now I'm stating mine, and that's what this board has always been about. State your feelings on things, let others know you're alive and how you feel. But never try to control others on something like this, since you can't, it's just a point of view, that's it, and nothing more to anybody else but you. I mean, were you trying to get others here to dislike Yoko when you first brought this up? I bet not, you were stating your feelings for her only, and that's exactly what I was doing, the same thing you did, we just look at things in a different light, that's it, and in this case, what you saw on TV upset you - while it gave me nothing but joy. So goes life, we can't all be exactly the same - and that's a good thing, and how this board operates. The joint never would have been started if it was meant to be any other way, since that's not who I am or who I ever was. Diversity is what makes the world go round, and I totally believe in that! So keep stating your point of view here and I'll keep stating mine, too. Hell, we might even agree once in a while on some things. I mean, I love the Stones music, how about you?
