You got it all in a nutshell there Fatmo, that's exactly what flames are. Debates are one thing and welcomed here, but when you get one or 2 assholes who have to be personal and insulting to others, that ruins a board and makes people leave and stop posting. Gasland had several flamers early on, then when the password system was installed, half of them went away thanks to that, and the rest left when the no flame rule went into effect last year. I don't miss any of them or any of that kind of post at all.
