You're all welcome, and I'm happy that I could turn some of you on to somebody new you didn't know about. Funny that I always took Leon for granted, thinking that everybody knew who he was (if you're over 50 you know who he is for sure), but yes he played on a lot of hits for others in the old days, just like the first 2 sessions players we voted on in the last 2 weeks, Bobby and Nicky, did too.
I ended up watching 4 or 5 old videos this morning of Leon, very fun to watch, and just tonight I was thinking again of when he played my hometown's festival. That was back in the day when the organizers of the 3 day event had more money to play with, they always had at least one or 2 big names each year back then host the weekend shows, but not anymore. They haven't had any big names since Edger Winter hosted it about 4 years ago. Anyway, here is the old review of the Leon Russell show from 2007 that I wrote up here back then, the part about Leon's show starts about 4 or 5 paragraphs down: L. Russell, J.
